Therapy for Depression + Anxiety

When you’re a high-performing person, it can be difficult to get a handle on it all, especially as you add new roles and responsibilities to your plate.

Nearly 20% of Americans are dealing with some kind of anxiety disorder, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.

And high-performers aren’t an exception – you can be successful and high-achieving and still struggle with anxiety, depression, disordered eating or managing relationships.

Maybe you’ve tried therapy before, and you didn’t see the results you wanted. You felt like your therapist didn’t truly grasp all of your high-stakes obligations, or your own personal goals weren’t really the focus.

How Amplify Wellness + Performance is different

At Amplify Wellness + Performance (AWP), we work with you to maximize your personal and professional abilities and optimize your life in the ways you feel are most important. We’ll set attainable goals and identify your barriers to peak performance.

Together, we’ll outline the best strategies to help you build the skills you need to achieve your goals.

How Does Therapy Help in the Treatment of Depression?

Every year, tens of millions of people in the United States struggle with depression. If you’re feeling down, you don’t have to face it alone—therapy can help in the treatment of depression.

AWP’s experienced team of clinical psychologists can support you in:

  • Gaining understanding and awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behavior patterns;
  • Identifying and implementing coping strategies that will work for your lifestyle; and
  • Changing the behaviors and patterns holding you back from feeling your best.

Depression can impact high performers and athletes in all kinds of ways—from generalized depression to post-injury or postpartum depression. If you’re struggling with any of the following, the AWP team can help:

  • Prolonged feelings of sadness or hopelessness
  • Heightened irritability, frustration, or angry outburts
  • Changes in sleep habits, like insomnia or sleeping more than usual
  • Feelings of worthlessness or intense guilt
  • Loss of interest or taking pleasure in things that previously brought you joy
  • Sudden changes in appetite that result in weight gain or loss
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Persistent thoughts of death or suicide

Therapy can be an effective treatment for depression of any kind. AWP’s clinical psychologists can help you feel better and get back on your feet, no matter what your goals are.

Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety can look like many things—from generalized anxiety disorder to specific phobias, social anxiety, or panic attacks.

If you’re experiencing any of the following, AWP’s clinical psychology team can help:

  • Excessive fear or worry that’s difficult to control
  • Avoidance of particular situations due to fear or discomfort
  • Difficulty concentrating or focusing on the present moment
  • Feeling restless, agitated, or on-edge
  • Sudden feelings of panic or impending doom
  • Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
  • Physical symptoms like rapid heartbeat, sweating, or trembling that aren’t due to an underlying medical cause

Therapy for anxiety offers a valuable pathway toward understanding and managing your feelings. At AWP, we work with you to develop coping mechanisms and strategies that align with your life and your goals, helping you regain control and get back on the path to optimum wellness.

Our team of clinical psychologists work with adults and high-performers of all ages to restore balance to your experience in work, sport, and life.

The AWP method differs from traditional talk therapy.

Our practice is focused on your future, not your past. We know you want to be the best you can be – that you’re interested in personal development, achievement and success.

Through the identification of challenges, the building of skills and sparking the inspiration to keep you motivated, AWP will guide you through the process of aligning your goals with your ultimate health and wellbeing.
